The Eyes of the Artist. If you turn my painting in any direction the eyes will follow you! Just like the eyes of Mona Lisa. Perfect conversation piece and an artwork that you won’t forget. Growing up in Florida, playing and chasing pink flamingos at the Beer Garden of Bush Gardens, Tampa, Florida, as a child, (before they fenced them off from human interactions), reading Alice in Wonderland’s adventures, (she using one to pay croquet….yes, I played croquet on our lawn), and watching crafts and artists paint flamingos………It became a natural desire to paint my own flamingo.
My Pink Flamingo has wrapped it’s beautiful neck around my own neck and dangles ever so fashionable as I grew up by the ocean and always thought of myself as a blue mermaid……
I and my flamingo dare to stare at you with a fixed gaze inviting you into my fantasy world.

My Ethnic Dolls are ones that you won’t find on the shelves of Walmart! A few years ago I received these Muslim styled dolls from a person who knew I appreciated art, crafts and collected interesting dolls. They sat on my art shelf for years staring at me in their plastic boxes. I had never taken the dolls out of their boxes, until a friend and I decided to see the fabrics up close. What a surprise. They were plastic, molded old styled Barbie Dolls, with Yellow Blonde hair, hand painted kookie styled blue eyes, wrapped in these beautiful fabrics. All held together by old rusty pins. I realized how precious they were. Thus began my 6 month process of painting my dolls to come to life.
This artwork was featured/displayed at Mirrors of Mind, Los Angeles, Ca, Psychotherapists as an Artist, 2016.

Remake of a Thrift Store Painting. I took the original painting and reworked the image to reflect our current politics and discussion of immigration, gun control and the Miss America pageants. I have a knack for painting our current events that sometimes are hard for people to discuss and converse about.
I reworked this extra tall distorted length woman by painting a crown on her head, (crowning of Miss or Ms. America) dot on her forehead,(Indian culture or a target dot from a rifle, enhanced her dress colors, put a gun in her arms, (in place of flowers for Ms. America Encore), American Flag draped over her arms and enhanced the background.
Coming to America makes a current political statement. Original artist (i am assuming a student’s name is left along with my signature).
Unframed. 20″l x 15″w. Convo me for shipping costs depending on location.
I have painted the thoughts of my own mind and experiences in life. As our lives often become divided and influenced by our experiences My Unquiet Mind is always thinking, discovering, analyzing, accepting and flowing! I am curious about myself and others.
The cycles of discoveries that I repeat are always concerning the purpose of our lives. This oil painting reflects my psyche: Closing my eyes to reflect thoughts in nature left upper corner: (ie: painting nose and face looks likes trees,) right upper corner: swimming/floating in the blue ocean freely allowing myself to soak up the forces of water and freedom, Left lower side: Always enjoying the freedom to dress and think for myself, I will not force the personal rights and decisions my voice or my vagina, (reproductive organs) to be silenced. (I was an early feminist of women’s right at the age of 13 with my grandmothers in Tampa, Florida). Lower Middle as I have traveled many parts of the world with Pan American World Airways as a flight attendant, I have experience many different culture, customs and religions, the fabric ribbons lower right represents the ribbons of life and my talent for sewing and embroidery, taught by my grandmothers. The red Cardinal in the middle is the symbol of Florida and has a special positive meaning for meaning for me and my family. It always represents positive change, growth, freedom to choose your life.
I hope you enjoy the discovery of my painting as much I enjoy sharing it with you.

Girl With A Message”, Framed Mixed Media Art: acrylic, graphite, paper, oil pastel, gold leaf, was auctioned to the lucky attendees and benefactors at Oceanside Museum Ball. It was also shown at the Vista Chamber of Commerce 2017: Shades of Red.
This artwork reflects the many messages that girls and women wear on their sleeves. Often times their hopes, goals, desires and daily struggles are tattooed on their bodies demanding our attention. Sometimes we are reluctant to read their messages and engage for the fear of self discovery. Red is a powerful color that demands attention and requires strength to hold it. My girl is NOT going away.
MyRed Dragonfly Gala Dresspublished in, Belle Amoire, Summer 2012, Page 46. I had the pleasure of having my niece Peyton Carroll model the dress and it was a feature at the Tri City Fashion Show, 2013, Modeled by Sara. It has graced many events and won the Donated award 2013 from American Sewing Guild! Hand embellished and embroidered. It not only won 1st place at the San Diego fair, but also won the prestigious Donated Award, gifting me a membership for a year to the American Sewing Guild, which ehanced and changed my life. Before this award, I did not think I could sew, due to poor sewing skills confidence. Also included in the photo is my green Envy Dress and Asian Flower sun Dress.
Trish began sewing at a very young age in the sun parlor of her grandmother and her lady friends in Tampa, Florida. Her grandmother operated a local boarding home on the corner of the Famous Bayshore Blvd, that even had a wishing well and a flower garden. The women would discuss local news, politics, religion, books, education, community interests while embroidering, sewing, knitting, tatting, making baskets, painting both acrylic and watercolors, while someone was always playing the piano and break into song. Everyone wore the most beautiful aprons to cover their day dresses, as a southern woman, was always in decor in case guest stopped by. Thus the beginning of her creative clothing.
Trish had won numerous and prestigious sewing awards for her creations: American Sewing Guild, San Diego Fair, Cover of Apron.olgy Magazine 2013, Stampington & Company, featured in 4 Apronology magazines, Home Magazine all for her aprons. Her Couture Clothing & Jewelry has been displayed and featured in fashion shows, Published in AlteredCouture, Belle Amoire, , Belle Amoire Jewelry and Sew Sommerset.
All of Trish’s aprons are one of a kind, individually and hand designed and sewn.
I made this artistic apron using blue stretch cotton fabric, assortment of vintage and modern lace, vintagedoilies for pockets, intricatly designed bias tape, embellished with ribbons and findings to create this stunning apron. I love mixing fabrics to combine an unusual finish. Full bib, 3 swing skirt makes this Teal Gardens apron a romantic must!
